$145 framed and shipped in US

This adorable funky frame gives this gift a modern twist. It is causal and hip for this pansy painting.  The little pansies are feeling free as they glide around in the glass.  Hanging out just enjoying the day as we should with our Mom's on their special day.

A girl just can't have more fun than this designing up a pansy painting.  Using my favorite dish filled with pansies.  The party continues with adding a pot of pansies and a few pansies in the glass goblet.  To balance out the colors adding several oranges in the painting.  Hope you see the party attitude of all theses pansies.

Well the garden is full of these smiling faces and many more flowers are on there way for this spring. Adding the fruit and veggies to the mix makes me want to get out and plant the garden and just watch what grows.  How can you resist smiling when you see pansies they all have such friendly faces.

11 X 14 OIL ON LINEN

Had a challenge to name this painting and Suzy Skeen called it Spring Tease.  In the middle of all the cold weather we have been having these little Pansies are teasing us with their fresh Spring look. They kept dancing around in the pot like they were just teasing me to paint them on this 9 degree snowy day.

Just got invited to do a big show next Spring and am trying to figure out what to paint and also get myself up and running.  These little pansies were hanging out in the studio today with me so they became the models of the day.  Watch for new big pieces that will be coming out for the show.

This is the latest and probably final pumpkin painting for the season.  After buying the pansies for the set up the other day my heart went back to wanting to paint flowers.  This painting is still on the easel and has all the warm tones just in time for the fall season.

Back to Front Purple Pansies by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Back to Front Purple Pansies
by Nancy Medina
5X7
Oil on Archival Panel

Back to Front Purple Pansies is a new work, and was a fun exercise for painting the back side of a cute little purple pansy! These pansies are quite perky on my porch so I have to take advantage of the models while they are fresh. Tomorrow morning I head back to East Texas to see Mom. I'll be bringing mixed nuts, a GIANT Hershey Bar (now you know who I inherited my love of chocolate from), and important pug accoutrements for her majesty AnnieBee Who Shall Accompany Me.

Take Fight Purple Pansies by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Take Flight Purple Pansies
by Nancy Medina
12X12
Palette Knife/Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

My winter garden is a bit meager, but a few pansies are determined to make their appearance and have survived two small snowfalls. I love their whimsical, ruffley edges. I began this painting with a completely transparent underpainting in yellows and greens, and then built my clay pot with Transparent Oxide Red. I used my dry paper towel to lift out highlight areas, and then shaped the pansies with brush and palette knife. The last step was laying in the bright opaque greens and the blue sky peeping through to give the flowers light and air. After a day with overcast gray skies, it felt like time for some bright color!

Pansy Parazzi Flower Painting Workshop by Texas Artist Nancy Medina

Pansy Paparazzi and Sunflowers
16X20
Oil on Linen Panel

Pansy Paparazzi and Sunflowers was my class demo this morning, in Day 2 of my 3-day workshop at the Jaycee Parks Center for the Arts. This afternoon in our class paint-along, the ladies created beautiful blue filigree white China sugar bowls. We sacrificed the one remaining white pansy on the pot of blossoms I brought to class from my back yard garden. But it gave itself for a good cause, to be memorialized in oils for all time! (Can you tell I'm still feeling bad about picking that little pansy off the plant?)  Tomorrow I am very excited, I will be painting white hydrangeas, white roses, and holly berries in my NEW RED VASE the Carlos picked up for me today. *sound of trumpets* If this doesn't kick our paintbrushes into holiday gear, nothing will! Except, of course, for a little eggnog.... Stay tuned to my art blog for more class pictures, red vases, holiday themed paintings, and workshop fun.

Pansies Darjeeling is drying on the easel, as stacks of newly framed paintings await a trip to the Texas Hill Country this weekend. Container Gardens, hydrangea cottage lanes, pink poppies in profusion, all will travel the Texas highways and find a resting place at my favorite gallery in Fredericksburg, The Good Art Company.

I feel a bit like Santa a few nights before his big trip in the sleigh, I have lists to make, tags to fill out, inventories to check, and delicate gold frames to wrap! It's a one woman show most of the time, although I do have my fat little pug elves always underfoot to provide entertainment, diversion, and something to laugh about when things get too serious around Flower Mound Studio. I hope you are ready for your own big holiday eve, it's fast approaching. Hurry, put the egg nog on the chiller and get those prezzies wrapped! Time is a-wasting!

Little Lovelies is a fresh pot of pansies drying on the easel this evening. I'm busy packing, framing and labeling a new load of art to take to The Good Art Company gallery in historic Fredericksburg, Texas, in a few weeks. I've enjoyed being a member of the gallery family for over a year now. It's always a fun trip to head down to the hill country, pack up AnnieBee the pug for the trip, stay at a fun bed and breakfast, and stop by Rather Sweet in the morning for warm cheese danish with raspberries. The best time to visit is Christmas, every little antique store, and the quilt shop, and the German restaurants, deck out in their finest holiday attire! I will share the whole thing with you through a photo journey on my art blog, so stay tuned!
