Fruit Medley Lazy Susan by Kristine Kainer

Lazy Susan - Fruit #1
24-inch diameter
Commission

I was recently approached by a client regarding a functional art project.  Though I don't consider myself a decorative artist, I have had quite a bit of experience painting produce.  Above is the result--a 24-inch Lazy Susan.  I see more in my future....

"Green Apples" & "Red Apples" by Texas Artist Rebecca Zook

In honor of my favorite season
TWO PAINTINGS...make me an offer for the pair.

Fall and apples go hand in hand. Apple pie, apple cider and carmel apples in particular come to my mind, but you still need the basic apple to start. These little 8" x 6" acrylic paintings would be perfect on a kitchen wall (which is where they are currently living in my house) or anywhere else. They were a little exercise in bold complimentary colors. Make me an offer on the pair.
They come framed.

(Best offer over reserve price by midnight (CST) today (Friday 10/12) gets you both. (Plus shipping if necessary). If your offer is under reserve I'll let you know. Price shown in link below is full retail for both pieces.)

"Milk & Cherries" Still Life by Gwen Bell

10 X 10" oil on canvas
available through The Dutch Art Gallery

You know how you can do something so much that
you can never imagine forgetting how to do it?

Well...I bought this fabric to make a dress. I haven't
sewn anything in 20 years. What possessed me to start
back with an invisible zipper and lining is beyond me.
It was a disaster!

Fortunately, it was not a complete loss since I was able
to pair it with this bright red cup.

"Kitchen Window" watercolor by Linda Bein

"Kitchen Window"
transparent watercolor
22"x15"
$315
To purchase contact Linda at lindaabein@gmail.com.
After I painted this painting I left it on my easel to decide if I was done.  I usually leave a painting around a few days or weeks to decide if I am finished or want to "tweak" it a little more.  My students came in and they always look around to see whats new.  One of the girls  just loved the painting of the  peaches because they looked so fuzzy.  She was just smiling and happy when she looked at the painting.  It is always fun for me to see their expressions and hear their comments.

In Doc's Hutch - Thaw Malin iii

"In Doc's Hutch"

"In Doc's Hutch", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel.

Having not regularly done a still life, this was a challenge. In someone else's kitchen where I never painted before it was even more so especially with them all watching me create. Luckily, I was offered a glass or two of wine as I worked and the painting flowed smoothly out from under my brush...

If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US.

Applecations

22x13 watercolor demo painted Saturday for my workshop. To create this design, I used a fresh apple and drew it 3 different ways, then drew a rectangle behind. Filling in with darker colored values surrounding the fruit, I then did negative shapes with my brush for leaves, twigs, and apples throughout the composition. In wet areas I sanded colored pencil for textural effects.
Title is pronounced "applications".
Original painting: $300

"Olive Mug & Pomegranate" Original Oil by Gwen Bell

I am finding that dark cups on light fabric have
incredible reflections. It's so much fun to try and
capture them on the canvas!

"Paisley Plums" original Still Life by Gwen Bell

©2010 Gwen Bell

10 X 10 oil on canvas

A friend gave me this cool fabric. The bits of red
inspired me to paint the red vase again. By
shining the light through the clear red glass I was
able to create a glowing shadow. Fortunately, the
fabric was light enough that the shadow remained
reddish. So much fun to paint!
