"Almost Guacamole" Original Still Life by Gwen Bell

©2011 Gwen Bell
10 X 10" oil on canvas SOLD

Almost Guacamole, but not quite. I forgot to include
the lime and onion. They would have added some
much needed light to the bottom of the composition.
However, I didn't forget them when I made the
actual Guacamole for my Nachos. YUM!

"Olive Mug & Pomegranate" Original Oil by Gwen Bell

6 X 6 oil on canvas

I am finding that dark cups on light fabric have
incredible reflections. It's so much fun to try and
capture them on the canvas!

"Paisley Plums" original Still Life by Gwen Bell

©2010 Gwen Bell

10 X 10 oil on canvas

A friend gave me this cool fabric. The bits of red
inspired me to paint the red vase again. By
shining the light through the clear red glass I was
able to create a glowing shadow. Fortunately, the
fabric was light enough that the shadow remained
reddish. So much fun to paint!

"Tea Stack" original oil painting by Gwen Bell

6 X 6 oil on canvas SOLD

I love the gold handles on these tiny China cups.
Just had to paint them! They have been in my
family for years. When I was a little girl, it was
always such a special treat to be allowed to play
Tea Party with them.

"Yellow Teapot II" original oil painting by Gwen Bell

©2010 Gwen Bell
6 X 6 oil on canvas

I've painted this little yellow teapot before but
I never get tired of it. I found this pretty new
fabric and thought the blue made a nice compliment
to the yellow. It
has a large pattern and will lend itself
nicely to
quite a few paintings.

"Sequestered" original still life by Gwen Bell

©2010 Gwen Bell
10 X 10 oil on canvas

I've painted this same tea towel time and again. However,
this is the first time I've painted it larger than 6 x 6 and I
loved being able to include more of the pattern. Once I
saw how it looked reflected in the shiny mixing bowl I
knew I had to go ahead and paint it once more.
