This painting is another one I did on Saturday. Such fun and I love this technique.    I was in a bright mood and that is how I picked my colors.

The glow of the vase against the yellow of the flower is just grand with the opposite of colors.  Then to balance this painting I used the orange and green to really hold the viewers eye into the painting.

These charming sunflowers where acting with such drama when I put them in their vase.  They almost seemed as though they were telling me I will do what I want.  Sometimes flowers give off an attitude also.  That is the reason for the dark drama background with hot colors to surround them.

Many people voted for what flower they wanted to see in the New Year and a white rose with pink petals was a top contender.  So here she is making her first appearance as a Beauty Queen.  She feels that she has shown up her yellow rose friend and daisy buddy to be the star of the show.  Painting things beautifully is one of my goals for the new year.

Water Glass Daisies is the newest work in the studio today, but was absolutely necessary because the daisies were looking all fresh and perky and crying out to be painted! The hubby was also wondering this morning where all the oranges went off to. In the morning they will miraculously reappear in the kitchen bowl, it will be our secret where they've been hanging out all week.
