Oysters on the Half Shell - Coastal Art by Kristine Kainer
Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
20 x 20 x 1.275
Here in Texas, we have delicious oysters from the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Theese particular ones were from Galveston Bay. A squirt of lemon and quick dip into cocktail sauce (heavy on the horseradish) make this a welcome appetizer. Like potato chips, though, you can’t eat just one!

Lazy Susan - Fruit Medley #2 by Kristine Kainer
Lazy Susan
24-inch Diameter
Commission
Here is a second lazy Susan--commissioned by the same client. It was quite a learning experience, but so worth the effort! Now I know what I'm doing for some Christmas presents....

Fruit Medley Lazy Susan by Kristine Kainer
Lazy Susan - Fruit #1
24-inch diameter
Commission
I was recently approached by a client regarding a functional art project. Though I don't consider myself a decorative artist, I have had quite a bit of experience painting produce. Above is the result--a 24-inch Lazy Susan. I see more in my future....

LEMON SLICES by Linda Popple
4x4 Oil on Gessobord
How many wipe outs can one have before paints and brushes are put away for a loooong time? I don't know, but I have to admit that I came close today. I am having a hard time getting accustomed to my new paints. I will definitely stay with the color palette for the remainder of the 30/30 challenge, but I may change brands. Just something that will work its way out with a little more time and experience.

Limoncello - Palette Knife Painting - Amalfi Lemons by Judy Mackey
"Limoncello"
24" x 30" x 1.5 inches, Oil on stretched canvas
A little on this painting above - Limoncello - the very strong alcoholic drink made from lemons. Along the Amalfi Coast of Italy - there are lemon growers along the cliffs - known for their lemons and this strong liquor. So this painting of a big bowl of lemons - it seemed appropriate to give it this title - available for purchase on Ugallery.

Making Lemonade by Judy Crowe
 |
| Making Lemonade 6x6 oil on panel |
On Friday mornings I paint with a local
artist's group and we hire a model.
It's great practice in painting the head and
figure but it's a struggle for me. These ladies
(there were 2 today, together!!) were such
great models and you sooo want to capture
the beauty in those faces....one of these
days I hope to be able to capture just a little
of that beauty on canvas. We keep plugging away.
Have a fun and safe weekend!

CHIPPED BOWL by Linda Popple
6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord
Click HERE to view my blog.
I'm trying to loosen up and I think I succeeded with this one. I had a blast pushing the paint around and softening edges. This bowl belongs to a friend and she was so kind to let me paint it - thank you, Linda! I want to paint it again. It really is beautiful and such character with the chip.
