"Bucket of Apples" transparent watercolor by Texas artist Linda Bein

"Bucket of Apples"
transparent watercolor
22"x15"
$375
Fall is the perfect time for apple picking.  We would  pick a bushel or two every fall when we lived in New York State, the orchard was less than a mile from our house.   The kids enjoyed the wagon ride, eating an apple and picking more. Of course the donuts and cider were a big hit too. And they couldn't wait for all the  baked goods we made, cakes, pies, breads, applesauce, donuts.  I can smell the yummy apple cinnamon aroma wafting from the kitchen now.

Time For Tea by Debbie Cannatella

Time For Tea
5"x5" (unfr) watercolor on paper
$80

Today's tiny tidbit is dedicated to my Aunt Phenie Cannatella Jerome... she's a matriarch of the Cannatella family and when my grandfather died when dad was 6, Aunt Phenie quit school to take on a job to raise money for the family and help support six siblings. She's in her mid 80s now, and still power walks 3 miles a day at the mall! This is one of her coveted tea sets... well, coveted by ME! For more daily paintings, see my "Tiny Tidbits" blog.

Applecations

22x13 watercolor demo painted Saturday for my workshop. To create this design, I used a fresh apple and drew it 3 different ways, then drew a rectangle behind. Filling in with darker colored values surrounding the fruit, I then did negative shapes with my brush for leaves, twigs, and apples throughout the composition. In wet areas I sanded colored pencil for textural effects.
Title is pronounced "applications".
Original painting: $300
