Chicken Run Rooster by Texas Artist Nancy Medina

Chicken Run Rooster
by Nancy Medina
10X10
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

This little rooster is one of an assortment of the busy feathered folk who live at the San Juan Capistrano Mission in Central California. He was either very camera shy or the dinner bell had rung, because the photo I captured had him at a full tilt gallop across the dusty yard. This is my first painting to ring in the New Year, and seems fitting since speed in getting from point A to point B is of the essence these days. I do hope that 2013 doesn't gallop by as quickly as 2012 did. My 20-year-old niece shared a bit of wisdom with me as I was driving her home after a week's visit for the holiday. She confided that time goes by much too quickly. From the mouths of babes....

Mates for Life - Thaw Malin iii

"Mates for Life"

"Mates for Life", this is a Small painting, 6"x 8", oil on canvas panel.

These swans found me as I was wandering along this shore line contemplating what to paint . They floated from around the corner and seemed unconcerned with my activities of setting up. Of course it did help that I, well, we were in the lee of an ESE 6 mph breeze. The sun was cutting through the light cloud-cover and I felt toasty warm in just hat and vest for overclothes. As soon as I had the swans painted in position on my canvas the breeze swung to the NE, heading right at us. The birds swam on to another cove. I was grateful for my hooded parka in amongst my gear to get me through to the finish...

If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US.

Designer Birds

Copyright 2009 Kay Smith
12x24 on Strathmore 140 lb cold press paper, Daniel Smith paints. This is about the 4th time to paint variations of these roosters I drew from my ceramic kitchen rooster which looked nothing like these; I tried to make them have their own quirky personality.

Rooster #3 by Nancy Standlee

Watercolor Rooster #3
9"x11" on 140 lb. paper
Art for Sale

I belong to a collaborative group of artists, Canvas by Canvas, and we like to travel and paint together. This rooster was painted while we stayed at the Iron Horse Inn in Granbury. Read about this adventure on my blog here. I took only rooster reference material that weekend and the photos were from a farm near the lake house where we'd stayed near Gun Barrel City.
