Funky Chicks by Kay Wyne

Funky Chicks
29" x 20" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Oil Painting
I just signed and completed this painting yesterday at the studio.
I may have one or two more strokes to add, but it is drying for now.
The mood hit me that I needed to paint a rooster or chicken and explore with
color, shapes and lines.  I am getting back into the swing of painting after being away from the easel for a month.  Thanks for viewing....Kay

The Stare by Kay Wyne

The Stare
8" x 8" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
$250
This little rooster is painted from some photos that I had from the Dallas Chicken Coop Tour several years ago.  This is painting #2 for the Leslie Saeta 30 Day Challenge.  I am really having to manage my time well to get these little daily paintings in!  I was up early today at the studio, putting finishing touches on this guy.  Of course you don't see the FIVE wipers that I had before this painting. If you would like to join the challenge or follow the artists, just go to Leslie's blog:
Thanks for looking - Kay

10X10
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

This little rooster is one of an assortment of the busy feathered folk who live at the San Juan Capistrano Mission in Central California. He was either very camera shy or the dinner bell had rung, because the photo I captured had him at a full tilt gallop across the dusty yard. This is my first painting to ring in the New Year, and seems fitting since speed in getting from point A to point B is of the essence these days. I do hope that 2013 doesn't gallop by as quickly as 2012 did. My 20-year-old niece shared a bit of wisdom with me as I was driving her home after a week's visit for the holiday. She confided that time goes by much too quickly. From the mouths of babes....
