Wildflower Summer 8" x 8" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Wildflower Landscape Day #3 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge
This little chunky canvas is drying on the studio wall. It is a free-flowing palette knife painting...looking for a new home. There is some texture on the canvas since the paint was layered on with the knife. Contact Kay for more information on this painting. Thanks, Kay
This wildflower landscape painting is completed! I used the palette knife and brushes to layer the paints. The clouds started with a warm orange, then layered blues, violets, greys and creamy whites. You can see some of the base orange color peeking through in the sky. The flowers in the foreground have thick, layered paint that was applied with the palette knife. Lots of texture! Contact Kay for info on this painting. Thanks, Kay
This painting is very wet, with layers and layers of oils. At the end of the day, I pulled out my palette knife and layered more paint in the foreground on the flowers. The thick paint gives it texture and interest. My inspiration for this painting was a photograph of a very colorful landscape with a house and garden in it, but I chose to go totally landscape on this one. I will post this painting again if I make any changes....I need to let it sit a on the easel for several days and look at it. Thanks for looking at this painting...contact ME with any questions or comments. Thanks, Kay
This little landscape painting is all framed up ready to go to a new home. I put a small dark wood frame with some red undertones on it. This colorful landscape painting would make a great accent piece in a home or office. Contact Kay for purchasing information. Thanks for looking....Kay
Fields of blue bonnets and the wide open sky is my subject matter for this painting. I wanted the blue bonnets to fade into the background of rolling hills. This floral landscape painting will look great framed up! Thanks for looking at this blog....contact Kay for more information on this painting. Kay
This painting started with a photograph taken by my husband years ago. I liked the road, and the hint of flowers along the countryside. I don't know where the photo was taken, but I took my artistic license and changed the colors, but wanted the long road to disappear into the horizon. The color palette is somewhat toned down for me...but I enjoyed experimenting with the lavenders, magentas and olive greens. Thanks for looking at this blog...Contact me if you have any questions or comments. This painting is for sale...and needs a new home. Thanks, Kay
This contemporary abstract landscape painting has bold, crisp colors on the canvas. I used a palette knife to apply the paint, so there is texture on the surface. Contact Kay for more info. Thanks for looking...Kay
This contemporary abstract landscape evolved after I mixed and mixed and mixed colors. I love the tangerine and hot magenta along with the golden yellow/orange. It is fresh, bold and fully of energy! This painting has texture since I layered and layered the oils with my palette knife. It is currently drying at the studio. Please contact Kay for more information on this painting. Thanks for looking at this blog....Kay
