Grand Opening Fund-Raiser to benefit Houston's Ronald McDonald House

TXsauce Art Studio-Gallery is hosting an April fund-raiser to benefit Houston's Ronald McDonald House!

During the month of APRIL, my paintings from current inventory are being offered for sale through this fund-raiser, and 100% of net proceeds on all painting sales in April will be donated to Houston's Ronald McDonald House. By "net proceeds" I mean that I will donate all of the sale price of the painting minus my expenses which are the PayPal or credit card transaction fees and shipping charges. I'll be donating my time and cost of materials alongside the net proceeds.

I hope you'll click on the Shop Now tab just under the page banner. Click on the HRMC link to learn more about Houston's Ronald McDonald House and the good works they do to help children and their families while in the Texas Medical Center for medical procedures and treatments.

While you're on my FB page, if you like the page just click "Like" under the banner, and you'll get an immediate discount on any and all art purchased through TXsauce Art Gallery (Shop Now tab).

I'll be adding a minimum of five more paintings to the shop this coming week.

You can comment directly on my post on the Ronald McDonald House page here— https://www.facebook.com/pages/Houstons-Ronald-McDonald-House/89919820913

Squirrel in Tulip Garden Watercolor Art

Oh, tiptoe from the garden
By the garden of the willow tree
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
—Tiny Tim

ART
This wildlife illustration was inspired by a squirrel outside my studio window. Tulips on the window ledge inside the studio found their way into the painting.  I love the color in this painting. Although we think we see squirrels as brown or gray, this brown squirrel is made up of many colors including cadmium orange, burnt sienna, cobalt blue and yellow ochre. Click on the image to see the many colors in this painting.

Blue Sunrise Pink Cow, Contemporary Western Watercolor Painting by V. Bridges Hoyt

I posted an earlier version of this painting on my blog yesterday, but this morning I couldn't resist going back in to add more contrast on the cow herself, and now I am happy with the painting. I painted this one with Dr. Ph. Martin transparent watercolor paints. They are liquid and handle differently than the tube paints. As usual I painted with a limited palette of only five colors, but atypical for me was my use of  black in this painting. My paintings are always in evolution, but I think that I am the work in progress. So here she is—final answer—Sunrise Pink Cow.

Texas Beefmaster Cattle in Watercolor by V Bridges Hoyt

"The Beefmaster" watercolor painting below was one of my earlier cow paintings.
The Beefmaster
Texas Beefmaster Breed
watercolor on 12x9 inch 140# Arches paper
Throughout the past six years, I have taken time to ride out through the pasture with my now 95 year old father to check his cattle. Dad would drive the Ford Explorer over pastureland, and I would take pictures of cattle from the passenger's seat. "The Beefmaster" was the first painting from our rides.

The original painting is in my personal art collection, but the image is available as a giclee print, and I have only two prints remaining.

The Beefmaster"The Beefmaster" print — $35.00 includes 10x8 inch giclee print and 14x11 inch double mat and backer board, ready to frame. This fine art print is so close to the original watercolor painting you can hardly see the difference. The 10x8 inch image is printed on professional artist grade watercolor paper. The print comes matted with a backer board and is wrapped in a clear protective acetate for safe shipping. Shipping cost is included in the price, and you can use the PayPal button provided below for easy payment. If you prefer to purchase with a personal check, please click here.

The second print is on the same paper but is shipped with no mat or backer board — price $19.95 includes free shipping.

Be sure to include your shipping address whichever form of payment you choose to use.

A Taste of Texas Watermelon by V. Bridges Hoyt

A TASTE OF TEXAS
watermelon
oil on cradled wood panel, 10x10 inches
© V. Bridges Hoyt 2011

Watermelon is traditional fare for Independence Day celebrations in Texas. The sweet, juicy red meat of Texas watermelons can not be beat. I used a palette knife (no brushwork) to paint the watermelon on a cradled wood board. I do love that surface for knife work especially. Colors used include cad red medium, alizarin crimson, cad yellow light, viridian green, raw umber and a little ultramarine blue. Oh, and Titanium white. View purchase information on my blog at TXsauce.blogspot.com.

Boxer Pet Portrait by Texas Artist V Bridges Hoyt

I love animals and love to paint their portraits. The boxer lady below lives far away from me, but her "mommy" sent several photos for me to work from. I used them all for reference, and by the time the portrait was finished, Queenty and I had become good friends via the internet. Contact Vernita.

Reputation of a Boxer Dog by V Bridges Hoyt

Take care of your reputation. It's your most valuable asset. —Life's Little Instruction Book.

"Reputation" of the Boxer pup Huxley. 10x8 inch mixed media on panel. Your purchase of this painting will generate a donation to Legacy Boxer Rescue in Texas. Click here for more information about the donation.

This little boxer pup was orphaned at birth. Legacy Boxer Rescue took him in and found him a foster mom who later adopted him. Perseus, as he was known in the beginning, later was renamed Huxley. I have gone back into this earlier painting and added "Huxley" to the placard behind. I'll be doing a bit more detail work on the script "Huxley" as soon as the paint is dry. Originally I named the painting "Hux in a Tux" but on the repaint I decided to add Huxley's name and rename the painting "Reputation." Huxley earned his reputation first under the name of "Perseus" as the unofficial mascot for Legacy Boxer Rescue as he fought all odds to survive. Anyone who loves boxer dogs would be proud to have a painting of Huxley on their wall. Huxley represents determination and reputation.

Young at Heart Border Collie

Border Collie "Young at Heart"
mini art card by V. Bridges Hoyt

Another freehand watercolor and ink sketch delivers art from my heart. My rescued border collie Brooke was the model for this original art card illustration. She is 13+ years, but I'm not sure if Brooke really looks as old as I've painted her. I have heard that every painting is a self-portrait of sorts. Maybe I was feeling old that day.
