   I painted this background with dark colors of Blues,purples,reds and some bright yellows and some oranges. I wanted to have a flower that went with the background and the Bird of Paradise just hit the spot.. My husband is making a frame for it now.

 It is done in oils and the mountains has lots of knife work and textures. I did the barn in reds and oranges,  The painting is on a 20"x 16" gallery wrap canvas.  NO need to frame unless you want to. The painting is signed by the artist Barbara Haviland

I started this painting to have a background on the white canvas. The more paint I put on the more the palm tree evolved. I used a palette knife with textures and only use Yellow Ochre,Cad Yellow Light, tiny bits of purple and White for this painting. The paint is very thick and would make a wonderful gift or to be added to your collection

Phillips Cove is done from a photo my best friend gave me. I used a very limited palette on the painting.Her son just purchased a place on the river and this is one of the sites to see. I love this It is on the Neches River.  I hope to go see more of this wonderful place.

I had a photo of the Ouray Waterfall and I love how this came out.  am working hard to improve my artwork....  This one is signed and framed for you.  I did use a palette knife on the rocks and water.

This still life was done from a photo that I used from Wet Canvas. (Thanks). If you belong to the site, they have a marvelous reference library. I loved how this was set up and I took forever to get it right.   I like how it came out. The painting measures 20"x16" and is framed making it a little larger. I love how the blue jar and background of Yellow orche meld for some contrast. The container with the eggs is smokey looking but it doesn't show in the photo.
