Description of Birds of Paradise

I painted these from my neighbor’s flowers.  I did this painting entirely with a palette knife. It has lots of textures.

Bird of Paradise, flora, flowers, Barbara Haviland,

This  painting is 24×8 and is done with a palette knife and has textures.

It makes a statement and will go next to a single small place. I have it hanging by our front door. Everyone sees it.     My neighbor gave me some to plant and they did bloom before too long.  She had white ones as well.

PS   Happy Anniversary Sam, may we have many more. 57 years today. I still love you.

I painted this background with dark colors of Blues, purples, reds and some bright yellows and some oranges. I wanted to have a flower that went with the background and the Bird of Paradise just hit the spot.. My husband is making a frame for it now.

Bird of Paradise is done on a small canvas.  I love these flowers. It measures 5"x 5" and makes a wonderful gift.
