Keri's Neighbor by Suzy Pal Powell

Keri used to have a neighbor who had this cute dog! Every time she and T-Bone walked he would stick his head out of the hole in the fence and watch. This is just a small  painted sketch.

Ella by Sharon Hodges

This is Ella, the precious pup whose human is my friend, Gail....Both were at the studio not long ago and Ella was waiting so patiently...well, maybe not, but I painted her quickly.  I love that she has one crystal blue and one golden brown eye...she must possess special powers!  Not for sale.

Napping Buddies by Sharon Hodges

I love dogs....they are the only creatures on earth who love us more than themselves...they exist solely to bring joy to our lives.  I firmly believe there are no bad dogs, only bad people.  These two are living the good life, with good people, no doubt....just napping the day away.  Oil on gallery canvas, 12x24x2.5, available for purchase...commissions inquiries for your pet portraits welcome.

Dog Study - by Palette Knife Artist, Judy Mackey

"Dog Study - Stella"
6" x  6", Oil on Board
Available on my Website, click this sentence to be sent there

This is from a photo I took of my dog, Stella.  I wanted to practice painting her because I might add it to a painting I have in mind.   Stella loves to go for walks even if it's to nowhere in particular.  She senses that it might be a walk if I put on either my tennis shoes or my gardening shoes.

And as I go outside, she'll usually walk a few steps ahead of me though she has no idea where I might be going.  I like indulging and walk a bit even if I' wasn't planning on taking a walk just to make her happy.  She has a "happy" walk, almost a skip sort of walk when she's walking with me.  And when I took this photo she didn't even know I was capturing her to use as a model some day in one of my paintings.

Sharon Hodges: Retriever at the Beach, 20x24

If you have ever been blessed by a retrieving canine in your life, then this is a familiar and happy scene. This golden will swim thru the waves for her tennis ball for hours and hours and hours. Her 'person' waits on the beach to throw the ball yet again. I was trying to paint this from the dog's vantage point...had to borrow the neighbor's retriever for photos, as my own beloved labrador didn't get the memo that she hails from a long lineage of water loving champion retrievers. (She hates water and wouldn't even be tempted if I threw a steak out there!) Dogs are a favorite painting subject for me...it is possible that I like them better than many people, at least I understand them better. If you would like to see more of my work, please visit my blog. If you have interest in purchasing a painting, please contact me.

Jackson by Kay Wyne

Jackson
Commission - NFS
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
I have been working on this handsome chocolate lab painting for a while...actually, I had him all finished, and needed to work on the eyes. Once I re-worked the eyes, I decided to re-do his snout. His coat is very dark and slick. I am letting him dry for a few days before I make any more changes. I need to ship him off when he is dry. Thanks for viewing this blog...
Have an artful day!
