Sweet Temptations Sunflowers may look familiar - it is based on many of the same studio stars who posed for me last night. My models are starting to fade, drooping here, sagging there, needing an injection of some plumping formulas in certain areas. My mind is traveling down this road because I had to make a dermatology appointment today. A little mole on my temple has changed and so it's time for the doctor to take a peek. The last time I saw her she tried to talk me into some magical injections for my lips, and some excellent rejuvenating elixirs for the areas around my eyes. Something tells me that moles are losing their fascination for her.

Sunflowers in Repose is drying on the easel this evening, while the assistants lounge on various pillows around the studio. I set up a shoot of fresh sunflowers on white paper on my kitchen counter and fell in love with the way the cool paper contrasted with the warm petals of the sunflowers. I had originally added pears, but decided the paper alone was a good companion to these busy, bright flowers.

They are predicting real winter will come to Dallas this weekend. I am ready for it, even though the flowers will fade in the garden out back, finally and for good. Maybe it's time for them to rest, too.

Homecoming is a new sunflower painting drying on the easel in the studio today. I am packed for a trip to Boston tomorrow and I am really looking forward to the trip. But the homecoming will be the best part. It always is.
