Framed in Violet White roses celebrates the push and pull of warm and cool violets, and how it can be just so much fun to let your hair down and play with color. Today the pugs and I are celebrating in the studio the release of my full-length, free tulip video. Just a flower footnote for all those who watch, unlike my professional DVDs, Pink Pirouette Tulip on video was just an amateur production done by yours truly, with her puggy assistants, so the sound is not high quality. I beg your forgiveness for that, though, if you listen closely, as a consolation prize, you might just hear snoring, snorting, barking and other assorted puggy noises! Stay tuned to the end for some fun out-takes involving the helpers!

Purple Spangle Sunflower was my class demonstration in Tennessee last weekend, and I'm packing up again for a workshop in Rockwall, Texas this weekend. I'm excited to announce you can now pre-order my new DVD, Ranunculus and Daisies, for a discounted price. This 90 minute DVD features step by step lessons on how to paint daisies, delphiniums, orange ranunculus and one of my favorite blue patterned vases. Fuschia Glads and Sunflowers was one of six class demonstrations created in Memphis-Collierville, Tennessee this past weekend. I love visiting my Memphis ladies, what a warm, friendly bunch - and the gourmet cake donuts and SUH-weet tea kept our creative energy high - no rest needed! The moment I arrived back in Big Ole Big D on Monday, I found a pile of boxes, supply deliveries, my new Felix clip stand for my IPad (*sound of harps*), and most exciting of all, my newest DVD, Orange Ranunculus and Daisies. I need to test that DVD on a few other devices and then will be ready to share this new step by step demonstration in oils with you. Stay tuned for the big announcement of when those will be ready, by signing up right here for my art newsletter. I'll be giving away an original oil painting, too, so you don't want to miss it.  A new four-foot tulip painting is under construction in Flower Mound studio, where we are celebrating the arrival of *cue trumpets* my first DVD! The big ole box arrived today. I thought it was just another canvas order until it occurred to me, today was the big delivery date. I love having all these beautifully packaged DVDs all lined up. They look so neat and well organized, unlike other parts of my studio! Tomorrow the winner of a full day private lesson arrives from Delaware, so the pugs and I will be entertaining and one of us will actually be teaching.

Feather Blue Hydrangeas is the newest daily painting in Flower Mound Studio, one of a series of new hydrangeas under way, in celebration of my colorful container garden this month. We had more rain in North Texas today, so I'm hopeful my blue and fuschia crop of these blossoms will continue for at least  few more weeks. Here's a secret about hydrangeas, that most of you who grow them may already know - in the center of every little cluster is a little belly button. Don't forget to include that small but important detail in your paintings, to give them that little extra zing of authenticity. Stay tuned for more hydrangeas to come!
