Yesterday was a perfect day in the studio.  Music playing, brushes working, and flowers being great models.  These beauties showed up from the garden just in time to put together with the old jar vases to give it that beautiful casual look.  The jars are in the old wire carrier.  One flowers stood out in all her glory so she because the queen of the flowers.

To continue the summer of fun with painting these little daises were acting like they are enjoying summer also.  They were going wild when they were put in the little vase.  They are impressionist style painting that gives them a casual look like putting on your favorite old jeans.

Yesterday was the first workshop of the new year and what fun we had painting the daisies.  We learned about how to create flow, focal, colorful backgrounds, values and of course drawing.

The problem with daises is that they have a million little petals and everyone wants to paint them all. The trick is values and a few important petals.
