Oranges and Carmel Daisies by Floral Artist Nancy Medina

Oranges and Carmel Daisies is blooming on the easel in Flower Mound Studio, a nod to the beautiful bed-head daisies of Carmel, California. These daisies were growing just outside our hotel last year, and instead of the lovely buttery round petals of traditional petals, sported spikey, fun, crooked petals, like someone had set their heat rollers on extra high just a few minutes too long the night before. Tomorrow I'll be back in the studio after painting in Florida this week with a very talented group of ladies. I miss them already, and I'm not just saying that because of Trudy's extra awesome chocolate cupcakes!
