Ruidoso Morning

This little painting was my hostess's gift of thanks for taking five fellow artists to her wonderful second home in Ruidoso, NM for a fabulous week of painting all last week. Texans will appreciate the 50's in the mornings and 70's during the day in escaping our heat right now. The views from the mountains were glorious! She had this fabulous set of dishes and I couldn't resist doing many set-ups for future paintings. Sure made the food and coffee taste better. This is only 8x10 and is on 140 arches stock.

Cherries, Berries and Stripes

Since I love to paint reds, I go a little overboard sometimes and I do think this is one of those times. The placemat is from a set from PierI and I have the matching napkins. Sure sets a pretty table and I use them all the time.

Sugarbowl Surprise

My idea for this painting came from my love for M&M's and the need to throw some color into the painting when doing crystal. This sugarbowl was my mother's and I also have the creamer to match. I have another piece in mind with these pieces using cherries and strawberries. Size is 15 x 22, watercolor on 140lb Arches. Of course, I ate the yummy chocolate candy.

Cherries aLa Pink Limoge

This painting was so much fun to work on as I absolutely love reds...all of them. My daughter collects "wedding band china" so I have an unlimited supply of references for my setups and this pink Limoge is a particular favorite. My passion seems to be painting crystal and glass and my flowerbeds are glorious this year so I am cursed with wanting to take photographs almost every day. Between the flowers and the crystal, I'll never run out of subjects.
