SOLD ~ Ragdoll Red Tulip and the Dallas Blooms Festival by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Ragdoll Red Tulip
by Nancy Medina

SOLD
8X10
Oil on Archival Panel

Ragdoll Red Tulip is the newest work on the easel, and I am counting the minutes until the tulips begin opening at the Dallas Arboretum for the Dallas Blooms Festival. I think the timing will be perfect, everything is scheduled to be in full bloom right after my last day at work next Thursday! The azaleas, daffodils, pansies, cherry blossoms, tulips, and scores of other plants will all be competing for the brightest color award. I think you and I should be the judge. Let's arrive early with our cameras, say around 10 am, get a few gazillion photos, and then have the Tower O' Desserts and High Tea in the tea room. We can nibble a sandwich or two just for show, and then polish off every pastry with gusto. Let's order two pots of that super delish fancy tea they serve, you know the kind where it comes in the special little nylon bag thingy? Don't forget your comfy shoes!

Tennessee Glads and Sunflowers by Texas Artist Nancy Medina

Tennessee Glads and Sunflowers
by Nancy Medina

SOLD
16X20
Oil on Linen Board

Glads and Sunflowers was a demo for my workshop in Tennessee a few weeks ago, my  how time flies! It seems like yesterday but it has been weeks since that trip! The lovely lady who purchased this painting brought a very special guest to see us, Mister D the Boston, who travels everywhere with his mom and dad. Mister D was a very handsome guy, and so well behaved (Howard Pee Pugpants, Take a Note!). I especially admired his little polka dot ear!

SOLD ~ Heaven Scent Red Poppies by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Heaven Scent Red Poppies
by Nancy Medina
12X12
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Heaven Scent is a new little red poppy in the studio, a diversionary tactic to help me avoid packing the suitcase and the EasyL Easel and paint tubes for my solo art show and class in Fredericksburg, Texas, this week. It's amazing what I can get done when I'm supposed to be doing something else. I can get the whole house cleaned in an hour if I'm really supposed to be working on tags for paintings. I can get two pugs bathed in half an hour flat if I'm supposed to be packing paintings to ship. And I can make the coolest art workshop banners with pretty text fonts I absolutely did not need but purchased anyway when I'm supposed to be writing my newsletter. I am the most productive procrastinator on the planet. Is that true for all artists, I wonder?

Color Wash Sunflowers and Daisies by Texas Artist Nancy Medina

Color Wash Sunflowers and Daisies
by Nancy Medina
12X12
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Color Wash Sunflowers and Daisies is a new painting in the studio, on a quiet evening at the end of a very busy week. This weekend is the first in a long time that I have no obligations, classes, appointments, or trips and so it will be me, the hubby and four pugs working in the yard, relaxing at home. Sometimes I absolutely yearn for boredom. I hope you have something fun on the agenda, not too taxing, and with just the right amount of delicious lassitude mixed in.
