City Chicken Coop by Kay Wyne

City Chicken Coop
10" x 12" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Plein Air Painting on location at Heritage Village
in Dallas, Texas.  I was with a group of fellow
artists painting in Heritage Village (or Old City
Park if you have lived in Dallas a while).
The chickens were very lively and did not
stand still for me.  I was perched up on a balcony
of a building next to the coop when painting.
I took a short break and took a pic of the progress.
We were painting early in the morning because
the heat and humidity was high.
Contact Kay for more information on this painting.

Eggstra-ordinary Hen

11x15 watercolor done today on Italia 140 lb cold press paper, Daniel Smith paints. It has been quite a long time since painting one of my fun yet funky chickens with an attitude. In this vignette, the hen seems to be cackling at her three eggs or at something else beyond the coop.

Miles....by Texas Artist Kay Wyne

Miles
15" x 30" Oil on Canvas
My inspiration for this painting is a photograph taken by Ty Tucker...the son of Marsha Tucker. Marsha was the proud owner of Miles, a Mille Fluer d'Uccle, a bantam breed from Belgium. Marsha lives in Tennessee and told me that Miles did have an attitude, but was self-confident, but generous in his own way. Unfortunately, Miles is no longer around because he was breakfast for a fox. Marsha raises chickens and hens, and this one really caught my eye. I loved his color, his shape and his stance. When he dries, I will frame this handsome fellow. Thanks for viewing my art. Have an artful day! Kay at 214-532-0325 or kay@kwyne.com.

New Friends by Kay Wyne

New Friends
6" x 6" Oil on Cotton Panel
Framed
I just signed and framed this painting yesterday. It will be hanging at our Open Studio Tour on Saturday. I love painting contemporary roosters, chickens and hens...they are so colorful and full of personality. These two feathered friends are checking each other out...
