Well life events have happened this last week and I have not been at the easel.  So today during the early morning of Daylight Savings time the brushes came out.  What to paint was the question.  My heart told me to keep it simple but lovely at the same time.  So as I stood there in my PJ's and house slippers this little rose painting came out.  My favorite blue flow pot became the partner to balance off the colors of the roses.

My on going commitment to myself is to learn more about landscape painting.  How fun to capture the glow of the mountain again the mountain stream and farm.  After teaching my recent color mixing bootcamp I have been using only a limited color selection to see what can be created from those colors.

My sweet Mother was so kind to dig up peonies roots from her garden and bring them to me several years back.  These beautiful flowers bring me joy each time I look out the window and see their beautiful blooms glowing in the garden.  Nothing is better than having a flower growing in your garden from your Mother's garden.  Thank you Mom.

The other day I dug up the last of the pansies.  They have endured the entire winter season.  The freezing cold, snow, rain, hail, and my bunnies trying to eat them all the time.  At this point they are like us they are a little frazzled but they still let their beauty show through.
