If you have never purchased this type of cabbage rose you probably don't know how expensive they are per bloom.  This color is one of their move valued cabbage roses so that being the case you need to get your monies worth out of the model.  As we say at our house no one eats for free.  The first painting the 11 x 14 took about 8 hours to paint and the second painting the 5x 7 took about 4 hours to paint.  If you figure it up that is about the same amount of time per square inch of canvas.  Never really thought about it before.

My sweet hubby purchased a wonderful antique rose bush for me and the blooms are so stunning I could never paint them as beautiful as they are.  The colors the smell the petals are all so stunning that my eyes are just blessed to view them.  While in the studio the wonderful rose smell was intoxicating and filled all the corners of the studio.
