This is the 3rd in the Begonia series and it has been so fun.  The focal flower developed and abstract background gives a nice balance together.  Last week in the workshop the students had fun creating their own focal object and all did a fantastic job.

Sometimes a flower at the nursery just Wow's you and this one certain did.  It's bright yellow bloom with dark green leaves just made it stunning.  My heart skipped a beat.  Never really seen that many double begonia blooms.  Big and beautiful compared to a regular begonia bloom.  Isn't God's creations just beautiful.

My Great Grandmother Grove had the most beautiful snowball bush that ran down the driveway side of the house.  We as kids would pull the big blossoms off the bush and play with them.  It use to upset her and now I know why.  The bushes are so beautiful and blow in the wind so gracefully.  On Friday I took the opportunity of the glorious day to paint outside in the backyard of my snowball bush that I planted in her honor.  This is the first of two paintings that were done this weekend of this delightful bush.

Sometimes when you do a painting it is almost complete but after sitting in the studio for a week or so you determine that some adjustments need to be made.  Adjustments made to this rose garden scene.  The roses are flowing all around with all the different colors enter twinning to create a flow of flowers abounding.

My dear friend Renee surprised me with a wonderful arrangement of flowers.  These beautiful carnations where in the bouquet.  The balance of the strong Red color against the White add high contrast and the Pink balances it out.  Beautiful botanical for any room.

Every year my tradition is to paint red roses for Valentine.  One of my friends called them Dreamy so that is how the got their name.  Thank you Valerie!  These Valentine Roses are placed in an antique bowl and seem to be flowing anyway they wanted to go.  All snuggled in together showing each other the Love that Valentine's represents.  May you be blessed with much love in your life.

Well 2017 has arrived and I am so excited to be back in the studio painting.  Whole Foods had some beautiful floral peonies.  Well time to kick the dust off the paint brushes and get back in gear.  Some exciting workshops coming up so trying some new techniques to teach.  Nothing like starting the new year off with flowers that have a million petals each all going in a different direction.  Some artistic license was used in creating some of the colors but these lovely were just bursting with excitement.

There are so many types of Roses and cabbage roses are my favorite but this time of year it is only the store bought type.  Off to the market to purchase the assorted bunch of colors to add variety and spice this year.  The bunnies have been eating my pansies that I recently planted but a few are still smiling.  They were added this year to add a little extra Christmas Cheer.  May you days be merry and bright.
