Well Sweet Hubby out did himself and gave me roses for my birthday.  The garden supplied a couple extra to make up this painting.  What is your favorite color of rose.  Doesn't ever girl love getting roses for her birthday.

Sweet Hubby had a request that I do a new painting for over the fireplace.  He wanted something that would make a statement.  This Ballerina is done in an abstract contemporary fashion.  He was a commercial pilot so thought flying away would represent part of his past.

This is the first painting I have worked on in a month since coming down with pneumonia.  How many brain cells does it take to do a painting?  Must be allot since during the painting came down with a major headache.  Will have to wait a little longer to get back to the easel.

Lately, the flowers in the studio have represented some state flowers.  This red/pinkish rose it called the Oklahoma Rose for the state of Oklahoma.  Wanted to give balance to the rose by painting several white roses to give the main rose more impact.  Enjoy Oklahoma's state flower.

Christmas is upon us and we are enjoying all the beauty it has to offer.  We are like children seeing all the glistening lights and sparkling ornaments.  The grace and beauty of the season surround us.   When this model appeared to me my heart almost stopped at her beauty.  Hopefully, it was captured just a little to show her the dancing movement of her petals.  Merry Christmas to all and thank you for supporting my art in 2018.

The days are getting shorter and colder outside.  In the morning the ice drips off the plants and gives their own glistening look.  While painting these roses and thinking of the dark winter days what better way to cheer things up but through beautiful roses.
