Spring has sprung and I am surrounded by bright happy flowers. This is a warm up to what is inspiring me recently. I pre mixed my colors and with the palette knife I dabbled the paint on. I purposely left the first layer of alizarin crimson peeking through.

Paluxy in Paradise by Sheri Jones

I was blessed to spend the day with friends on the Paluxy River recently. The day started off cold so we bundled up. By the time we made it to the river we were peeling off the layers.  It was a great day painting with friends away from the hustle and bustle of the season.

                                     Embracing Fall Colors by Sheri Jones

I am still embracing the fall colors and making the most of it. I painted this at the Nature Center in Acton yesterday.  It was good to get outside and enjoy the warm temperatures. The weather has been incredible lately. Get out and enjoy it!

This is the second quick study I did when I visited the Brazos river in the Pecan Plantation. It is always like a mini vacation when I take the time to go plein air painting. The trees seemed to glow in the morning light, providing the color I search for.

Escape to the River by Sheri Jones

I painted this yesterday on the river in Granbury. It was great to meet up with friends and away from the news.  We share a love of nature and appreciate the opportunity to get outside and paint. It was a great escape!
