I'm delighted and honored to announce that my landscape painting, Sunset Blaze, received first place for the member show for 2013 for the Mid Cities Fine Artists of Texas. The juror expressed some interest in finding I had created a landscape, noting that she was familiar with my florals. Actually, I've been painting landscapes much longer than florals, and many of my landscapes are inspired by the farm in East Texas where I grew up. Tomorrow I'll be posting from Southern California and Balboa Park, where my weekend workshop begins on Friday. Stay tuned for photos from one of the best places for flowers in the US!
