Progress on Colors of the Night Contemporary Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Colors of Night
24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas.

Went back to this painting. It has been hanging around in the studio for about a month now... and I just wanted to finish it. It was a good experience. I darkened the rest of the background and highlighted other areas with color and I can call it finished.

Layers of texture created this contemporary Horse Painting. Then layers of paint, probably close to 20 layers of paint and texture total.

Think about your life and the many layers of paint and experiences that make up who you are. Is God included in those layers or are they all about you?  You are still a work in progress.
