Vintage Hydrangeas and Pink Roses is a commissioned work in the studio this week. When I'm not at the easel or obeying my supervisors, I help out with the Dallas Ft. Worth Pug Rescue's newsletter. We are incredibly fortunate to have a group of professional photographers who give their time and talent to make our rescue pugs shine. Our senior and special needs pugs had a glamour photo shoot last week in Flower Mound, Texas, in the photography studio of Jenny Froh. Saucy Senior Bonnie Jean is pictured on my art blog today in our holiday card. Her fondest wish is to have a forever home for Christmas. Holly Berries and Roses was the morning demo from my 3-day workshop in Irving last weekend, and is going to be my holiday card this year. I have much to be thankful for, especially to my collectors who have made this my best year for art ever. Today the studio helpers and I had some special visitors, Tracey and her babies from New York, who are in town to visit her family for Thanksgiving. Howie fell in love with a little New York cutey named Izzy, and I was instantly infatuated with the lovely Rosie, a vintage beauty and sweet soul who found Java's soft nest bed and immediately made it her own. I hope your heart is filled with love for some special little ones this week, and new discoveries that give you comfort.

The Orange Door is a new small painting in the studio, amidst shipping boxes, new canvases being prepped, and sleeping puggies. This is one of my favorite scenes from Coronado Island, off the coast of San Diego, California, in a sleepy little community that has been unspoiled by urban sprawl and whose residents pride themselves on beautiful cottage gardens. It's a heavenly place to visit, and speaking of which, I heard a story this week that reaffirmed my belief that there are angels among us. Read more....
