East Texas Pasture by Susan Moss

oil on canvas on panel
9"x12"

This painting is plein air and painted near Brenham, Texas. I love the colors and texture of Texas brush and fields. I used a palette knife to capture some of these textures. The greens of spring were just starting to come out and mix with the earthy reds and browns from the winter.

Fair Preparing - Thaw Malin iii

"Fair Preparing"

"Fair Preparing , this is a Small painting, 6"x 8", oil on canvas panel

The hay was bad this year due to all the rain. So instead of baling and trailering immediately to the barn, lots of fields had bales hanging around for many days before they were collected for mulch. This field, the site of the Agricultural Society annual fair in 2 weeks, had bales in it for 3 days. I enjoyed 2 of them creating a small painting one evening and a larger one the next afternoon...

If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US.

Azaleas, Dallas Arboretum by Susan Moss

oil on canvas on panel
8.5" x 8.5"

I painted this in plein air with the Outdoor Painters Society at the Dallas Arboretum. The Azaleas were in full bloom and the weather was perfect. Not much time for plein air these days with my 2 year old son but I love to do it when I can!

Dripping Springs Bluebonnets by Susan Moss

This is a huge tree outside of my sister's house in Dripping Springs, Texas - "The Gateway to the Texas Hill Country". I wanted to capture the bluebonnets there in plein air, but keep it really loose and thick - I used my palette knife for this one.
