This chair sits on our front porch with a basket of flowers.  I painted it from life.. The painting measures 12"x12" and is framed so it is a little larger.  My frames are a gift to you.

LEFTOVERS by Linda Popple

8x8 Oil on Gessobord

Part of the fun of painting still lifes is hunting for those things that would be good to paint. I found this child's chair with old red paint and bits and pieces of green paint showing through. What a find! I know I'll be using it again and again. I had some tomatoes and decided to paint them on the chair. The title came from leftover tomatoes and an old leftover chair.

Green Apples by Linda Popple

12x9 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord

I painted this in Linda Reedy's studio. She has some fantastic still life props and her studio is so pleasant to paint in with its large windows and space to spread out. And the best is that we have become friends and we have fun painting together. Please check out Linda's blog. Her paintings are amazing! She just moved here from Boston and is represented by Alden Gallery in Cape Cod.

I'm trying to loosen up and with this painting I did to some extent. Still need to work on that, but I am really having a blast trying some new things. This is a larger support that I normally use and that was fun, too.
