This painting was inspired from a photo I took in a garden shop in Marbel Falls, Texas. I in town for  "Paint the Town" plein air paint out and show. It rained off and on the whole weekend and we were taking a break and went shopping. This is a picture of ceramic boots from a garden center.

I will participate again this year April 15th, 16th and 17th. The painting is available for sale $350.00

This was inspired by a challenge posted on Daily Paint Works. This week's challenge was posted by Carol Marine. The rules were to divide your canvas into squares and do 10 minute studies. Set a timer and stick to 10 minutes. This is a great exercise and forces you to make quick decisions. You learn to make efficient strokes. Next time I will make sure and have plenty of paint mixed up. I can see doing more of these they were such fun. This painting is available for purchase. $150.00

I bought these lilies at the market and they had about 10 buds on them. They opened slowly and and were the perfect models for painting. This painting comes with lots of paint and texture.

This is a painting I did during our paint out with the Outdoor Painter's Society. We painted inside in the morning. There were three stilll lifes set up and one model to paint from. It was a good choice to be in with temperatures in the 40's outside. The temperatures rose to 80 before the day was out. It's always great to paint with other artist and see their approach to the same subject. This painting is available for purchase. $100.00

The highlight of my Friday was going to the grocery store to buy flowers for the weekend. They were fully stocked and had a wide variety to choose from. I was excited to get started with this one. The background started out as a deep red and it wasn't working. I changed it to green and that really made the lilies pop. I painted this with a lot of thick paint letting the layer of red show thru.. This painting is available for purchase. $150.00

With cooler temperatures, I enjoy gathering items for still lifes and working indoors. I found the peppers in the frig and thought their bright colors would be a good subject for today's project. This was a fun challenge creating the clear glass of the mason jar. The cloth seemed to pull it all together.

The was painted in the studio from a set up. My grocery shopping trip is what inspired this painting. I introduced the platter that had a lot of the repeating colors. This was a lot of fun to paint. I was inspired to paint still lifes after seeing Beth Prichard do a demo at our local art meeting.It's so beneficial to see how someone approaches and executes a painting. I always learn something and its so inspiring. I bought the fruit to eat, but they made nice models for me. I brought the stacked bowls in for their bright rich colors.
