Adventurous Escape

I am so fortunate to view a gorgeous sunrise and want to share my joy. The colors are endless and a fun challenge to paint. Recreating on canvas creates a mini vacation and adventurous escape.  I start with a toned canvas and quickly sketch in my design and start to add texture with the palette knife and lots of gorgeous color.

This was inspired from a trip to Wimberly, Texas with my sisters and nieces. We decided to check out the river and were there to witness a gorgeous sunset. We viewed the river and landscape as the setting sun cast a golden light on everything.

The park near Benbrook lake is my inspiration for this sunrise painting.  I drive through the park on my way to work and if I time it right I see the sun come up.  The golden hour where the sun cast bright colors everywhere. This was a joy to paint using the palette knife and all these warm colors.
