Tie a Bow on It by artist Pat Meyer

Snow, Snow and more Snow today so why not paint.  These flowers were purchased for a demo but we were snowed out.  I decided to put the little market flowers into the 3 vases to separate them out to showcase their beauty.  The Sunflower was the star of the flowers so she had to be front and center and all her supporting flowers surrounded her to make her feel warm and cozy on this cold day.  To finish this little painting the green bow made me think to Tie a Bow on It.

Violets Garden by artist Pat Meyer

12 x 16 oil on linen panel
Pat@Meyer.net

The summer flowers are long dormant by now so the floral flowers are in use for paintings.  Looking for just the right floral combination to create a design that would be lovely.  These are roses, violets, carnations and etc to complete the scene.  When a friend of mine saw the painting she told me that it reminded her of her mother's flower garden.  Her Mom's name was Violet so this painting is called Violets Garden.

The rose bushes in the yard are blessing me with a beautiful bounty of colorful roses.  The colors go from pale to clear colors.  Yesterday brought some of the lovelies into the studio and did a small painting.  When finishing sweet hubby walked in and said Wow!  Hope that is how others feel!

Carmel Calla Lillies by artist Pat Meyer

Vault Gallery Carmel Calif.

Spring is here and the flowers are starting to bloom.  Carmel California seems to be full of the Calla Lilly flowers and other tiny flowers.  The colors are a feast for the eyes and the flowers blow in the salt air winds.  The inner twinning of the flowers makes them seem like the best of friends.  This painting will remind you of all those stunning cottage gardens.

We all would like to be the Queen of something well this rose decided she would be the Queen of this arrangement.  She was lovelier than all the other roses so she stood out with grace and beauty.

Lately, the flowers in the studio have represented some state flowers.  This red/pinkish rose it called the Oklahoma Rose for the state of Oklahoma.  Wanted to give balance to the rose by painting several white roses to give the main rose more impact.  Enjoy Oklahoma's state flower.
