Contemporary Rooster Series
I am in the studio these days working on a commission, and took a break to paint this fun rooster. It's 2017 --- The Year of the Rooster. This is my first rooster to paint this year, so I named it "First Rooster". Using a large filbert brush, I scrubbed over an old painting, so there are colors peaking through. I did not go into any details with this colorful rooster---I used generous amounts of straight paint (no medium) so some of the brush marks are thick, others are thin.
