The Power of Art to do Good-Hurricane Harvey Relief Auction
The Power of Art to do Good
I lived in Houston for 25 years and although I don't miss the traffic and humidity, I still have wonderful friends that are still there and many great memories raising my two youngest there. My daughter who has been posting regularly for about 6 months on Facebook and Instagram for me still lives inside the loop.
The devastation that we now see on television and the fear we felt during the storm for friends and our daughter has prompted me to want to help in some small way. For the next 5 days (maybe more) I'll be posting small paintings on my blog with a link to purchase through an online auction. All net proceeds (I still have to pay PayPal a fee) will go to a local non profit that we have been impressed with- 'West Street Recovery' -located there in the heart of Houston.
These 'millennials' are out helping in any way they can those that have lost their homes. They were out there rescuing people from the high waters during the storm! Just search West Street Recovery on Facebook to learn more.
If you would like to bid on a painting, simply click on the link below the painting and then follow the directions. You do not have to have a PayPal account to purchase a painting. Please make sure we have your up to date info including email and shipping address should you win the bid.
Thank you so much for helping us..help others!
Blessings, Judy

Bayou Home was painted on location "en plain air" in a small coastal community in Louisiana named Chauvin. Chauvin is just south of Houma near Cocodrie. Every summer I traveled to that area to paint for a week with other artists. This little community also suffered during Hurricane Katrina which changed the landscape there somewhat...it's still a great place to paint.
