Adams Bayou, plein air oil painting by Texas Artist Shirley Quaid

On a recent Saturday I traveled to Port Arthur to join a group of painters for a Oil Painters of America paintout organized by Artists of Texas artist Barbara Haviland. We caravaned over to Orange where we settled down on the banks of this bayou for a day of painting. As plein air goes this was quite an enjoyable day. No high grass to contend with and a bathroom within easy walking distance!  Barbara was friends with the property owner so we were literally in his back yard. How would you like an awesome view like this!
I finished this painting and have reference photos for more when the mood strikes. I'm not really highly experienced in plein air, but it is fun so I'll probably find more opportunities. It is great being outside painting and fun to make new friends in the process.
