Summer Night Geraniums is resting on the easel after being batted around by my super large brush this evening. I've fallen in love with the 3/4 inch flats and find myself using them more and more lately, for just about everything, even the tiny centers of pansies!

I spent most of today's work time with that same brush on a large purple iris commission, and it seemed fitting to hop across the color wheel and produce some hot red geranium blossoms before washing up the brushes. Plus I have this super awesome geranium plant I bought from the (you guessed it) grocery store! The air in North Texas is super still tonight, not a breath of breeze, and almost feels like summer is about to pounce upon us with its hot claws again. My big geranium plant will go back out on the garden porch tomorrow to enjoy the cool weather while it lasts. The irises and pansies are also blooming, so it will be in good company.

Geranium models in the studio take a bow!
