Every now and then the disaster movie I'm watching gives me a great idea for the name of a painting. Solar Flare is based on one of the most beautiful sunflowers I've ever encountered in Coronado, California. It almost seems a bit unfair they can have the best roses, delphiniums, daisies, pansies, and peonies, and then have to go and also lay claim to the best sunflowers, too - I will have to resign myself to visit there as often as possible! Staying on the beach in perfect weather is a tough job, but I'm willing to make the sacrifice for the sake of the flowers...
