It's been windy in North Texas lately, so my flower photos have been a bit of a challenge. My newest sunflower painting reflects a bit of the breezy weather here. That weather outside didn't stop me from making the annual pilgrimage today to Argyle Acres Iris Gardens! This weekend was their sneak peek, and even better, the blooming season has started early because of rains a few weeks ago. With our sharpened number 2 pencil and order sheet in hand, we found about five new lovelies to add to our garden out back next year. The rhizomes will arrive in an airy, light box later, just in time for our new iris-hydrangea beds to be settled in for the fall.
Visit my art blog for a few of my favorite photos from the gardens today, which are just a few miles up the road from our house. I'll share more over the next few weeks so don't be a stranger!
