I have painted this image several times and always enjoy it - especially this time of year when the bluebonnets are just beginning to open up. Despite a severe lack of moisture, the bluebonnets are gamely trying to put on a show. There are plenty of plants, thanks to a decent rainfall last September, but the blossoms are having a hard time putting on a happy face.
