Evensong is one of a collection of scenes I have painted from one of my favorite places to visit, Balboa Park, San Diego. My husband and I moved from Southern California to Texas 8 years ago and we visit California frequently to see dear friends and to deliver new paintings to the gallery on Coronado Island. There is no shortage of beautiful scenic things to paint in Southern California. The best part about plein air painting in California is you don't get scorched from hundred degree weather, though beach sand blowing onto your wet canvas can be a bit annoying.
