Cenizo ( Sagebrush ) in Bloom

Cenizo, or Sagebrush is painted in oil, it's 9 inches tall by 12 inches wide, and still wet on the easel. I wanted to capture the wet look between the rains, with some of the dead grasses we have due to the drought.

You can purchase my oil paintings and studies on my website. Visit my blog to see life in and around the beautiful Texas Hill Country. I love our flora and fauna and love to share it with you!

  1. I love how you use lavenders, Jean. You are a master of the violets!

  2. I agree. Jean, I also love the looseness and expressiveness of your brushstrokes. That, combined with your use of colour makes your paintings sing!
