Carlos and I left behind the bright lights and perfect sunlit days of Southern California for more economical accommodations in Texas 9 years ago this month. Texas has become our home in every sense, but I still miss the ocean breeze from time to time. Balboa Sunset is a scene from Balboa Park, San Diego, one of our favorite places to visit. When we were there a few weeks ago, the park was constructing a new butterfly garden, with multicolor terrazo tiles and plants designed to attract thirsty insects. I can hardly wait to get back and see how it looks when they are done. I promise to share photos when I do!
