Sand Dollar by Kristine Kainer

Oil on Gallery-Wrapped Canvas
40 x 30 x 1.5

This sand dollar was found while beachcombing near Galveston, Texas.  In folklore, these skeletal remains of sea urchins were thought to be the lost coins of mermaids.  I wish I had known that when my daughter was younger and the world was filled with magic and wonder!

Sand Dollar by Kristine Kainer

Oil on Gallery-Wrapped Canvas
20x16

With temperatures already in the upper 90s in Central Texas, my thoughts turn to the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of the beach.  Oh, to feel the sand between my toes!  Alas, this painting helps me dream.

Oil
12x12

This little sand dollar was found on a beach near Galveston, Texas during a family vacation.  The original painting is on stretched, gallery-wrapped canvas and is square (12 x 12).  The sides are 5/8" thick and are painted to match the background; thus, framing is optional.
