Tiny Poppies was a nice change from the large paintings that have been taking up space in my tiny studio lately. I found some good color combinations for this small work that will translate to something larger later. Working in a small space isn't bad as long as I keep everything organized. You can see one way I keep my paint organized on my art blog today. Shoe storage bags are perfect for my paint tubes, although I do need one more, and I have nowhere to hang it...

Heart Light Poppies is the newest small work in Flower Mound Studio, as I start a new large triptych of poppies. I've been having fun with poppies, even though some beautiful fresh hydrangeas are patiently awaiting my attention on the sculpture stand near my easel. The hydrangeas will not last forever, but I simply cannot help myself, I really want to keep painting poppies while the colors are fresh in my memory from the triptych I finished yesterday. Maybe if I re-pot those hydrangeas with some Miracle Gro, they will forgive me and keep on blooming!
