Berries and Creme Lily Trio was my sixth class demo in Rockwall, Texas, and I am always so sad to say farewell to a class of enthusiastic, talented painters, most especially when they bring me pastries! Thanks so much Rosemary, my enabler, donut supplier, and new BFF for bringing two dozen delicieux donuts this morning. What in the world could be more fun than painting fresh flowers in the colors we love, while having just a few glazed treats while we're at it?

My next stop is Kansas City, and Connie Turner's fabulous art studio in Lees Summit. I have one seat that just opened for this workshop, and would love to see you there! With or without donuts! Read more....

White Iris Tango is the newest daily painting in Flower Mound Studio, based on the flowers of Argyle Acres Iris Garden in Argyle, Texas. I launched a new iris video for you today, and you can take a peek here. (pssst, it's free!) I've been watching my own iris beds with an eagle eye this month, celebrating each new blossom. My purples and blues have had no problem making an appearance, but only one white iris has peeked out so far. I'm holding my breath, awaiting the black iris I so carefully staked off, and asked my hubby to be sure not to thin or move in the annual culling. When it blooms, I'll share a photo with you. Notice I said when, rather than if? I'm thinking positive!

Lapis Lazuli Iris is a bit of thick paint and bright blue to celebrate the first blooming day for my iris gardens. This morning I had two large irises completely unfurled to greet the world, despite the winds, they hung in there beautifully. A butter yellow one is about to emerge, and I'm hoping the black irises will also be opening soon. As soon as the wind dies down a bit, I'll share some photos of my garden with you. Stay tuned for the tour!
