Tight Bunch by Kay Wyne

Tight Bunch
20" x 20" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Still Life Painting
I picked up a couple of bunches of hydrangeas at Trader Joe's this week and set up a simple still life.  We were hosting Karen Blair - contemporary artist from Virginia, at the studio and this floral arrangement came in handy, as almost all the artists painted it.  I chose not to use any medium on this painting because I wanted a thick painterly look on the canvas.  It will take a long time for the oils to dry!  Here is a close-up:
Thanks for taking a peak at this painting.  "Tight Bunch" is drying at the studio, but will be looking for a new home in the near future.  Thanks, Kay

12x12 Palette Knife Floral Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

Hydrangeas ©2014 Niki Gulley
SOLD • 12" x 12" textured oil on canvas

Just Sold! I painted these hydrangeas with extremely thick oil paint and palette knife. The resulting canvas is loaded with texture, color and energy! I've painted it on 1 and 1/2 inch deep stretcher bars, with the image continuing around the edges so that it can be hung as is frameless for a contemporary look.

These hydrangeas look great hung alone to brighten up a little spot, or in a grouping with some of my other 12x12 florals. Hang them horizontally, vertically, on a diagonal or stacked. If interested in seeing companion pieces, please e-mail Niki Gulley for options.
