Missed The Boat by Kay Wyne

Missed The Boat
12" x 12" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
This colorful dinghy was aching to be painted when John and I came across it in a small fishing village in Maine.  It had lots of character, and was tied up to the rocky shoreline.  This small piece is framed in a dark mahogany frame, and is ready to find a new home.  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks, KMW

What A View by Kay Wyne

What A View
12" x 16" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contact Kay if you are interested in purchasing this painting.
Last March John  and I were in La Jolla, CA walking the streets and taking in the town.  A lot of times when you are vacationing, you seem to see the same people over and over again.  We kept running into or in this instance, following a small group of monks.  I could not resist taking a pic of them taking in the view.  I really liked the robes and the shadows they created.  So, last week I started this painting...and now it is finished.  Thanks for looking at this blog...I am painting everyday, keeping up with the challenge.  Kay

Missed The Boat by Kay Wyne

Missed The Boat
12" x 12" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
An old dinghy tied up to a dock caught my eye when we were in a small fishing village in Maine.  I loved the old and weathered metal on the boat.  It was rusty and rough.  The water skimmed over the rocks leading up to the shore.  I used a palette knife to give the rocks and dinghy texture and depth.  This painting looks great framed up in a dark wood moulding.  Contact Kay for more information on this painting.  Thanks for looking...Kay

Just Waiting.....by Kay Wyne

Just Waiting
36" x 36" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Seascape Painting
This painting is hanging at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas.  My inspiration for this dinghy painting was a photograph that I took while in Maine last fall.  I liked the rust, color, texture and aging on the surface of the dinghy, and the fact that it was pulled up on the rocks of the shore.  Thanks for looking at the art posted here....have a great day and stay cool.  Kay-I can be contacted at kay@kwyne.com or 214-532-0325.
