"Soaking Up Sunshine" is full of color and warmth.  This contemporary still life is very painterly, as I put a my strokes of color on the canvas, I left it alone.  You can see the brush strokes, as the color is vibrant and not muddy.  This small 14" x 14" gallery wrap canvas has the sides painted, so it is ready to hang. Contemporary Floral Still Life

Today at the studio was good.  I had painted a still life of John's fresh-cut mini roses....they were beautiful with corals, oranges, pinkie pinks, and fresh green leaves.  I thought I had a good start, but scrapped it after looking at it today.  I started over, and this is where I am on the painting.  I am pushing the oils around on the panel.  Needs more darks, more lights, and a few minor adjustments. I think a title helps a painting.  But can it also hurt a painting?  The original title for this painting was "I got your memories, or has it got me" but I've decided to change the title to "Preserving Memories" - I think this might work better...
