A Summer Bloomer by Artist of Texas, Sheri Jones

A Summer Bloomer
14x18 oil on canvas

These summer bloomers are cashmere bouquet flowers. They are a hardy, Texas tolerant plant. They can be invasive, but that is their worst trait. They are easy to grow and a regular in my garden. Some refer to them as rose glory bower, mexicali rose or mexican hydrangea.

From the Garden
It is available for purchase. $400.

Last Light by Artist of Texas, Sheri Jones

Last Light
Diptych collage
30 x 24 x2 gallery wrapped canvas acrylic-mixed media

I created this collage with acrylic paints and lots of texture. I glued textured paper along the edges to indicate a window. I wanted your eye to go from the abstract sun to the glow of the river. The fancy tree was and added delight. I used a palette knife for even more texture. I glazed color on top of color creating depth.
This painting hangs in the lobby of the hospice program I work at. I hope staff and visitors can find a peaceful respite while viewing.

Travis Avenue Shadows by Artist of Texas, Sheri Jones

Travis Avenue Shadows
11x14 oil on canvas

I loved the shadows the trees were casting on this house in my photo. I went back recently to see if the flowers would be blooming. I was not disappointed. The home owner was out working in the lawn when I walked up. He quickly called his wife out to give me a tour of her garden. She also gave me a tour of her art collection. The highlight was seeing my friends art.  Jill Randall painted  a portrait of this house and did a fabulous job.

Red Buds Blooming by Artist of Texas, Sheri Jones

Red Buds Blooming
9x12 oil on Raymar canvas panel

This was painted on site on Country Road 1004 in Glen Rose yesterday.  When my friend Jill Randall and I took off we had a plan on where we wanted to paint. The creek bed we planned to paint at was dried up, so we went  to plan B. We had no plan B, so we drove around until we found color. It did not take us long to find these beautiful red bud trees.   These are some of the earliest blooming trees, that mark the start of spring. This is available for purchase. $250.00
